Andrew (Andy) Frawley, with over 30 years of operational experience, including 25 years in senior leadership, has excelled in diverse industries such as agency, marketing services, software, and professional services. As a seasoned leader, he specializes in SaaS, Digital Marketing, CRM, Big Data, and Marketing Automation. As the CEO of Data Axle, Andy is dedicated to further developing industry-leading client solutions and delivering world-class services to Data Axle clients.
A published author of “Igniting Customer Connections” (2014), Andy is a sought-after speaker on various business and technical topics related to Digital Marketing, Product Innovation, Agency Innovation, Customer Analytics, Big Data, and Customer Value Management. During his distinguished career, he has advised many clients, ranging from small digital businesses to the largest global marketing organizations. Andy’s breakthrough thinking and methodologies, including ROE2, Cliquity, Continuous Customer Management, and Value in Play, have guided organizations in delivering tangible ROI from their customer and marketing investments.
Prior to joining Data Axle, Andy amassed a wealth of leadership experience, steering transformative initiatives at several organizations. In the 1990s, Andy founded Exchange Applications, one of the industry’s first MarTech platforms, going public in 1998. During his tenure as President and CEO of ClickSquared Inc., he repositioned the company to an enterprise SaaS solution to automate multi-channel marketing, dramatically increased the customer base, and achieved record growth, which led to it being named the fastest-growing company in New England several times from 2005 to 2008. Over seven years at Epsilon, Andy ascended from leading the digital division to President of Marketing Technology and, ultimately, CEO. Under his stewardship, Epsilon launched innovative digital products and transitioned from a product-centric to a customer-centric model, achieving significant revenue growth. He also oversaw the integration of two large agencies, Aspen Marketing and Hyper Marketing, into Epsilon. At V12, he strategically repositioned the company into the CDP market, unveiled an industry-leading Intent data product, and orchestrated a successful sale to Porch (NASDAQ: PRCH) in January 2021.
With an MBA from Babson College and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maine, Andy currently serves on the boards of CURO (NYSE: CURO), Alterian, and Marketing Evolution, contributing his strategic insights to committees on strategy, audit, and compensation. Beyond his corporate engagements, he is passionately involved in various nonprofit organizations. Andy resides with his wife, Juli, in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Naples, Florida.
Ed McCormick is Data Axle’s Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Privacy Officer. As Chief Privacy Officer, his mission is to develop and implement the organization’s data privacy policies and practices across business teams to ensure data privacy excellence. As Chief Administrative Officer, his mission is to develop and execute a Human Capital strategy to enable organizational and individual effectiveness. The Human Resources, Legal, Data Audit, and Information Security teams report to Ed. He is passionate about streamlining operations and breaking down internal silos to clear a path for organizational effectiveness.
Ed has held several senior executive positions prior to joining Data Axle in 2012. He led the HR function at Epsilon, a marketing and technology business with operations in North America, Asia, and Europe. His experience prior to Epsilon includes leadership roles at Alliance Data, AT&T, Acuity Brands, Frito-Lay, and Kraft Foods.
He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on a baseball scholarship where he earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
As the CTO and Managing Director of Data Axle India, Vishal is responsible for overseeing the company’s technology strategy and execution, with a view towards creating increasingly valuable solutions for our customers and aligning the technology strategy with overall business goals. Vishal also oversees Data Axle’s Pune Office.
With a career spanning over two decades, Vishal has proven himself as a transformative technology leader. His track record showcases remarkable achievements in driving revenue growth and enhancing performance. He specializes in establishing and scaling top-tier enterprises, fostering a culture of digital transformation, and prioritizing operational efficiency and superior customer experience.
Prior to joining Data Axle, Vishal held the position of Head of Technology at Viacom18. During his tenure, he spearheaded the digital transformation within the media industry by implementing cutting-edge technology solutions aimed at improving viewership and monetization. Previously, as Senior Head of Delivery at Verizon, Vishal was instrumental in crafting and executing technology innovation strategies for enterprise-wide digital and mobile transformations, elevating online sales, service, and support delivery by leveraging data analytics and business intelligence. He was pivotal in scaling India operations from 50 to 7,000 employees while nurturing high-performing teams, achieving an industry-low churn rate.
Vishal earned a BE in Computer Science from SGSITS Indore and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking for his wife and two children.
Sumit Bhalla, the Chief Operating Officer for Data Axle, is responsible for global delivery operations, client retention and growth, sales and service operations and PMO. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Sumit has continued to lead the development and delivery of technology-driven business services and solutions, providing outstanding client service, and driving profitable revenue growth. With the leadership style that has focused on operational and customer excellence and deep knowledge in data, technology, and digital solutions, Sumit drives continuous improvement of business processes, client growth and expansion of services here at Data Axle.
Since joining Data Axle in 2012, he has held several leadership roles responsible for client management and delivery across our top clients while managing a diverse and scaled set of client facing professionals. Prior to joining Data Axle, Sumit worked with Merkle, Liberty Mutual, IBM and SAS Institute. Since starting his career as a developer and architect, he quickly expanded into a variety of leadership roles in technology and client services.
Sumit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). In his spare time, Sumit enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, and traveling.
As Chief Financial Officer, Mark Campbell leads all finance and accounting activities for Data Axle, including audit, tax, treasury, and FP&A. Mark is a strategic and growth-oriented financial leader focused on ensuring Data Axle delivers on its economic objectives while also maintaining a high level of compliance and integrity.
Before joining Data Axle, Mark was CFO North America at Ipsos, a global market research firm. Additionally, he was the CFO of the Direct Marketing businesses for Harte Hanks. Earlier in his career, Mark worked in the finance and accounting organizations at NCR Corporation and General Motors.
Mark graduated from the University of Michigan both with his BBA as well as an MBA, where he graduated with Distinction with a concentration in Finance and Strategy.
Mark Cullinane is the president of Local Marketing Solutions at Data Axle. Cullinane is an accomplished senior executive with leadership experience in multiple industries including digital advertising, consumer internet, gaming, technology services, and software. He brings a track record of success in results-focused leadership and building high-growth businesses. Cullinane joined Data Axle from Publishers Clearing House where he was senior vice president and general manager of Digital. Prior to his position at Publishers Clearing House, Cullinane was senior vice president of Digital at GSN Games, a leading provider of cross-platform entertainment.
Cullinane graduated from the US Coast Guard Academy as valedictorian and received his Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Niely Shams has over 15 years of experience in direct marketing specializing in the nonprofit, publishing, and financial sector. Niely’s role is to oversee and manage overall campaign strategy / execution and to ensure that Data Axle is meeting and exceeding client acquisition goals. Her focus is on campaign development, management / oversight, and execution across all channels.
Prior to joining Data Axle, Niely was a Senior Account Director with Paradysz, managing major nonprofit and financial publishing accounts. Niely is a member of the DMA and the DMA Nonprofit Federation. She also served on the board of directors for the DMFA (Direct Marketing Fundraising Association). Niely holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Rutgers University.
Tom Zawacki is the President of the Axle Agency and Chief Marketing Officer for Data Axle. He works with our clients to develop a strategic vision, innovative ideas, and effective and efficient data and marketing solutions that drive short-term ROI and long-term transformational business results.
Tom is an accomplished business leader, motivator, and innovator with 30+ years of experience in data, marketing, and AI. Before Data Axle, he was SVP of Corporate Strategy & Commercial Growth for Rocket Fuel, Inc. During his time there, he led several business, innovation, and client strategy teams to secure multimillion-dollar partnerships with Fortune 500 clients across key verticals such as CPG, Auto, Finance, Travel, and Technology. He also headed up an industry-first integration between Rocket Fuel artificial intelligence and IBM Watson. Before Rocket Fuel, Tom was General Manager, West Coast at XPlusOne. He developed corporate brand positioning and the GTM strategy for the XPlusOne SaaS platform and attribution capabilities and oversaw the start-up, management, and growth of the company’s West Coast operations. Before that, he founded Lemonade Inc., a social commerce company, and G4 Consulting LLC, a strategic marketing firm focused on delivering innovative ideas to FORTUNE 1000 brands.
Tom was named Mazda’s Strategic Partner of the Year (2015), TIME Magazine/CNN Website of the Year (2007), and Internet Marketer of the Year (1998). He is currently a Forbes Councils Member and regularly contributes thought leadership offering insight into leading industry topics. Tom holds a BA in Anthropology from Princeton University.
Kara has been a B2B direct marketing leader for more than 20 years. She started at Data Axle in 2015 and currently leads a talented team of marketers responsible for driving brand awareness, generating leads, and optimizing marketing efforts for maximum performance for Data Axle’s Enterprise and Nonprofit divisions.
Kara has a proven track record of successfully leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies to deliver exceptional results. Before leading Marketing, she led the transformation of Data Axle’s Sales Enablement practice where she helped drive revenue growth and optimize sales processes.
Prior to joining Data Axle, Kara led B2B Product Marketing and Sales Enablement for Allant, a boutique direct marketing services organization, and held senior B2B & B2C marketing and product roles at Peerless-AV.
Sean Koch is the General Counsel at Data Axle. Sean’s expertise lies in drafting, reviewing, and advising on retainment and settlement contracts with a focus on potential liability, exposure, and pre-litigation risk, negotiating services agreements to include risk assessment and mitigation and preparing legal contract templates, guides for best practices and compliance for law firm staff, and escalation levels for approvals.
Sean previously served as Principal at the Koch Law Firm and as an Associate Attorney at the Sloan Law Firm. He received his Juris Doctor from the South Texas College of Law Houston and was the valedictorian of his graduating class. He also obtained 19 CALI Awards (highest grade in the class), the Spurgeon E. Bell Moot Court Competition Best Oralist Award, was published in the South Texas Law Review, and became a certified mediator. Sean is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Houston Trial Lawyers Association, and American Association for Justice. He also dedicates time to speaking at local schools to discuss the importance of education.
Mr. Delaney has been a member of the Court Square Capital team and its predecessor, Citigroup Venture Capital, since 1989. Prior to Citigroup, he held various corporate finance positions at General Motors, including Manager of Acquisitions and Divestitures. He also served in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1980. He received his B.S. from Pennsylvania State University and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Since 1998, Mike has been a prominent figure in direct marketing. He currently serves as Chairman of three industry leading direct marketing companies, including Catalina Marketing as of May 2023. As the current CEO and Chairman of Tenerity, Mike is dedicated to steering the company toward its mission – assisting businesses in surpassing their goals through robust solutions that enhance customer engagement and foster loyalty. Joining the Tenerity Board of Directors in 2017, he assumed the role of Chairman in 2019. Before his tenure at Tenerity, he spent twelve years as Chairman and CEO of Data Axle, where he continues to hold the position of Chairman.
Prior to Data Axle, Mike served as the President and CEO of Mobile Messenger from 2009 to 2011, establishing the company as a dominant mobile technology content distribution player in North America. He was CEO of Epsilon from 2001 to 2009, transforming Epsilon into a leading database marketing company. Epsilon achieved a more than threefold growth in revenue and a sixfold increase in EBITDA under his leadership. Prior to being CEO, Mike was CFO of Epsilon and was instrumental in the spin out of the business from American Express.
Nikul Patel is an accomplished FinTech executive with a focus on product strategy, product development, and innovation. At present Nikul is founder and CEO of LoanGlide Inc., a point-of-sale financing platform. Prior to that, Mr. Patel was an executive playing a pivotal role in the explosive growth of LendingTree (NASDAQ:TREE) from June 2012 to Feb 2019. During his tenure, he managed Product and Strategy for the company as a Chief Product & Strategy Officer. Under his leadership, LendingTree diversified its business by launching and scaling new product lines like Personal Loans, Reverse Mortgage, Credit Cards and MyLendingTree, a customer engagement platform serving more than 16 million consumers. He was also Chief Operating Officer for the company from June 2015 to Nov 2016.
Prior to LendingTree Mr. Patel served as President of Home-Account.com, a Silicon Valley start-up with an online mortgage shopping experience. From 1997 to 2008, Mr. Patel held various senior management roles involving technology products and services at Intel Corporation. In addition, Mr. Patel co-founded Movoto.com, an online real estate shopping website. Mr. Patel received his Master’s of Business Administration with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his Master’s of Science in Computer Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Mr. Patel also holds a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication engineering from Gujarat University, India.
Jonathan T.M. Reckford is chief executive officer of Habitat for Humanity International, a global Christian housing organization that has helped more than 35 million people construct, rehabilitate or preserve their homes.
Since 2005, when he took the top leadership position, local Habitat organizations in all 50 states and in more than 70 countries have grown from serving 125,000 individuals each year to helping more than 5.9 million people last year build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar, Jonathan worked as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs. He was also the recipient of a Henry Luce Scholarship, which enabled him to do marketing work for the Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee and coach the Korean rowing team in preparation for the 1988 Olympics.
He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business before spending much of his career in the for-profit sector, including executive and managerial positions at Marriott, The Walt Disney Co., and Best Buy. While serving as executive pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church near Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was recruited for the CEO position at Habitat.
Jonathan is the chair of Leadership 18 and is a member of the Freddie Mac Housing Advisory Council. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Urban Steering Committee for the World Economic Forum.
Mr. Thomas is Managing Partner at Court Square. He has been a member of the Investment Team since 1980. Mr. Thomas received degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Akron.
He is currently a director of Advanced Diabetes Supply, Evans, Golden State, Data Axle, Momentum Telecom, and Smart City. He most recently served on the boards of Conterra Ultra Broadband, National Seating & Mobility (“NSM”), Cadence Aerospace, Fibertech Networks, Harvard Drug Group, Mspark, Newmarket, and Wyle. Previous boards include Auto Europe Group, Aviall, Brintec, C&H Sugar, DavCo Restaurants, The Devon Group, Flender, Furnishings International, Hancor Pipe, Interface Solutions, International Airmotive, MagnaChip Semiconductor, Mid-Atlantic Coca-Cola, NCI, Neenah Foundry, Pamida Stores, People Express Airlines, Smith Alarm, Worldspan, York International, and Zatarain’s.
Mr. Hosbein joined Court Square in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in strategic finance and business development at EyeCare Services Partners, an ophthalmologic services platform. Previously, he made healthcare investments at Avista Capital Partners and was in the Consumer investment banking group at Baird. Mr. Hosbein received an M.B.A. in Health Care Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.B.A. in Finance and Chinese from the University of Notre Dame.
